OUR PURPOSE

The Coakley Center is committed to helping you navigate various social environments and organizational systems as you grow personally and professionally. We support you in overcoming obstacles such as: social isolation, low self-confidence, feeling socially awkward, uncertainty about your path in life, challenges with advancing in school or work, and struggles with fitting in.

OUR SERVICES & PRODUCTS

Our services are confidential, solution-oriented, and creative to encourage you to take action to become a better version of you by addressing challenges that hold you back. We serve families with school-aged children, teens, college students, families, groups, K-12 schools, colleges, and organizations.

We offer online and in-person services and digital products that include:

Consultation Services: 15-min. Free consultation to gauge your needs and determine whether we are the right fit for you.
Mentoring Services: 30-min, 90-min, 1-day or 5-day sessions. Tailored strategies for success in various settings for individuals, groups, schools, and organizations.
E-Books and Workbooks: Guides and practical exercises to strengthen social skills and skills for advancement.
Customizable Workshops and Training Materials: Ready-to-use materials and workshops and training for groups, schools, and organizations focused on social belonging, effective communication, leadership, and career advancement.

meet Tanya Coakley, PHD, MSW, Founder

My Background

Welcome! I am Dr. Tanya Coakley, a nationally recognized educator, mentor, and leader with over 20 years of experience helping individuals and organizations overcome challenges, build confidence, and achieve meaningful success.

As the Founder of The Coakley Center, I draw from my expertise as a college professor, administrator, military leader, social worker, and developmental & behavioral support professional to equip and elevate individuals—especially those from underrepresented and vulnerable groups—with the knowledge, strategies, and confidence needed to break barriers and achieve lasting success. Throughout my career, I’ve led impactful projects, including federally funded research through the National Institutes of Health that focused on improving family communication and health outcomes. My extensive experience in child welfare and academia includes supporting families, students and faculty to strengthen skills, relationships, and resources to achieve better outcomes. Over the years, my work has earned me multiple awards and recognition for my contributions to education, research, and community impact.

My Approach

Whether through personalized mentoring, engaging workshops, or digital resources, I am committed to inspiring growth, resilience, and empowerment for those ready to unlock their full potential. With a PHD in Social Work and a minor in Statistics, I've developed services and products grounded in evidence-based strategies to transform lives. I understand how overwhelming it can feel to struggle with low confidence or uncertainty about your direction in life. That’s why I’m committed to helping individuals find clarity, build self-belief, and gain the skills they need to move forward with purpose. Through personalized mentoring and practical tools, our approach at The Coakley Center empowers you to thrive both personally and professionally.
